1841 in Hartlebury, Worcs;
George Dixon   24
Mary Dixon   45
Eliza Dixon   15
Edward Dixon   11
William Dixon   10
Thomas Dixon   8
John Dixon   7

1851 Mary is born c 1803 Kidderminster and 1861 c 1801 Bewdley

1851;
Mary Dickson 48
George Dickson 25
John Dickson 16
Thomas Dickson 14

1861;
Mary Dixon   60
George Dixon   40
Thomas Dixon   23

George (under Dickson) seems to be the 1st child christened 28 March 1817 Kidderminster.
John the last child christened 23 March 1834 Hartlebury

Just posting for background.

No I dont think so it appears Edward Snr may have died between 1833/4 and 1841.
George the Son christened 1817 looks to be the head of household in 1841 Census.
1851 his age is out but 1861 is nearer to his right age.

Trees have Edward born c 1787 Hartlebury but that makes him lot older than his Wife Mary from her Census ages.
2nd Wife?
Although I cant find any Marriage to even 1 Mary that seems to fit 1810-1834.

Hi Breese
I'm on holiday about 12 miles outside Worcester so on my latest visit to the HIVE at Worcester I thought I'd try to help you by searching Hartlebury & it's contiguous parishes for the marriage you need but have had no luck so far & have searched (for about 3hours so far)
Hartlebury 1803 to 1831
Elmley Lovet 1802 to 1836
Arley Kings 1805 to 1838
Stone 1805 to 1828
Stourport on Severn 1805 to 1820
Kidderminster (st Mary's) 1807 to 1812
On my visit next Tuesday I will continue to search Kidderminster, Ombersley & Wilden also Astley is a possibility but it's my opinion this marriage could well have taken place at Claines or Worcester more than likely St Martin's or even in the brides parish as it often did

All the very best

Phil from Somerset

Hi Breese

I forgot to say that I looked in the marriage record books at the HIVE but the marriage you want to find is not in them so FHS points to it more than likely have taking place in a large parish I would think but not all the marriages for the county have been entered in these volumes so don't take that as it not taking place

All the very best

Phill

Hi breese
I went to the Hive yesterday for 4 hours to resume my thorough search for the marriage of Edward Dixon to Mary C1807 & further to the parishes I've already searched I searched Kidderminster (st Mary) 1813 to 1822, Dudley (st Thomas) 1806 to 1818, Ombersley 1803 to 1830, Claines 1806 to 1824
During my searching I've only found one marriage that even comes close to fitting the bill
     Kidderminster (st Mary) film 158/5
5SEP1821 (license) Page 284 No 851
Arthur Dixon (batch) = Mary Bowyer (spin) BOTP
With parents consent
Witnesses Jas Bowyer, Martha Dixon, Mary Morris, Thos Whitcomb
I have to call it a day now as I only have time for one more visit to the Hive this holiday so I must try to get some of my own work done then

All the very best

Phil

Hi again Breese
I just noticed I misread the brides parish like a prat so will try to make up for my mistake by looking at the films for Bewdley in the hope that the marriage was there fingers crossed

All the very best

Phil

Hi Jayne

I had a look at the Bewdley entries yesterday & for your future information entries for Bewdley before 1853 are on the films for Ribbesford but I was unable to locate the marriage there either so I had another look at one of the films for Hartlebury (Film 136/1) just to see what it gave for Edward's baptism entry see below
25OCT1787 Edward s/o Joseph/Mary Dixon was baptised

Also on the same film was his parents marriage in case you don't have it
Joseph Dixon = Mary (I can't read the surname)
No 239 12APR1785 I forgot to note down the witnesses sorry)
I checked the above marriage with the Marriage Index Volumes at the Hive & it is entered as Soutall but I feel certain that this should be Southall as that's a Hartlebury name so this marriage entry needs to be checked with the original registers but I honestly didn't have time to do this as I was very pushed for time & will be feturning to Somerset on Sunday so yesterday was my last visit to the Hive this holiday.

All the very best

Phil

Please excuse any spelling errors or omissions
