I am trying to find some information on William George Bryson Fairgrieve born 1916, Musselburgh. His parents were William Robertson Fairgrieve and Helen Wilson Ovens. William junior married a Joyce Warburton, might be somewhere in England, can't find his dod, but he was the witness on his Dad's death certificate, living in Sheffield, could have been married there.

Hi Ann
This looks to be the marriage:
Marriages 2nd 1941
Fairgrieve William G B
Joyce Warburton
Chesterfield, Derbyshire
Vol 7b - pg 2569
At least 2 sons showing for them born in Chesterfield. You can search for them, using mother's maiden name to narrow down searches, on www.freebmd.org.uk/

Ann, not connected to your query, but is the Fairgrieve family you are looking at?

Wow, thank you. It is the family that I am researching. Would it be possible if you could find Joyce’s dod please.

Did have a look for her death yesterday, but couldn't easily see anything for her in England or Scotland :-\ Do you know anything about Joyce that would let you narrow down searches (date of birth for example)?

I don’t have anything on Joyce, did a search on free cen, nothing was obvious.

In the 1939 register, there is only one unmarried Joyce Warburton without a future married surname, born 1 July 1915 and living in Stroud, Gloucestershire.
Can't find a matching death.

If her husband was born in 1916, chances are she would not show up in any census unless she was several years older than he was.
Your best move is to get a copy of the marriage certificate. It won't tell you very much, but it will tell you the name and occupation of her father and maybe her age. Without some more information about her you're unlikely to find her death.
https://probatesearch.service.gov.uk has a Joyce Fairgrieve, date of death 30 Nov 2013.
There was also an acknowledgement in the Border Telegraph on 23 January 2013, obviously a different Joyce Fairgrieve, but this must be the Joyce Fairgrieve, other surnames Dickson and McNeill, whose death at the age of 86 was registered in Galashiels in 2013.

Thanks for the additional information, I do have the surname McNeill which is connected to the Fairgrieve’s.
