Title: an old photo of my Dad and Uncles
Post by: Sandysandy on Wednesday 24 April 19 13:14 BST (UK)
Hi ..
I was wondering is it possible to color hair a ginger color ,,, one of my cousins sent me an email yesterday with a photo of my dad, second only photo I have of him as a child ... he is the one standing behind his two older brothers, he had blue eyes and ginger hair  with fair skin, his older brother had blond hair blue eyes,, and his second oldest brother had dark brown hair brown eyes. the wall of the house was off white with green trims around the windows.. the chairs were cane chairs painted with lacquer so they were like a dark brown I think... If anyone can color it that would be awesome, I have already had one photo on here colored which I am ever so grateful for .. I received the photo by email so cannot scan it !!!!

I've given it a colour, I always find blonde hair difficult to do, so hope this and the ginger hair are OK for you,

My question is which of the two boys in front is the older one with blondish hair?  I assume he's the  one on the left?  That's what it appears, but just want to make sure.

(even though my dad hated his red hair LOL) its like heaps weird as I didnt notice the bandage on my my dads older brother George's arm, so that should answer your question as well John-76 ,,, this is so exciting, I cannot wait to show some relies hey,,, ha ha,, awesome. over the moon big time.

Sandy,so pleased you liked the colour version it was fun to do. When you get your Gimp set up, why don't you have a go at colouring this photo, it's a lovely clear one to work on and you can use the cleaned and repaired version to get you going. As you have to work on all parts of a photo a bit at a time, you will notice all sorts of things you would never have noticed before, like the older boys bandage on his arm.

Hi Carol... Love your version ,,,its very bright hey,,, thankyou,,,

Hi Pat ...   I have quite a few photos picked out to color .. I have kept the clearer ones for me to have a go at ,,, except for one which I will put up soon, its very dear to me as it is my great great grandmother when she was a little girl about 5years old ,, and everyone tells me I look like her ,,, so she has to be special hey ,,, Ha Ha ,,
Loves heaps Sandy

I can lower the contrast Sandy if you think it's too bright, but the boys looked rather dark which made the skin colour look unnatural.

Hi Carol...Nooo its fine just the way it is ,,, :) but if you can change the window sill from red to green that would be awesome ,, as Grandpa's house always had heritage green window frames ,,, Ha Ha,, Heritage green is a very popular color in Australia .. when settlers came out here I think thats the only color paint they had ,, ha ha ...
