Title: Mary Jones born c1740 possibly in Horspath, one of my Brickwalls

I believe that Mary Jones and Joseph Tucker who married on 1 Sep 1765 at St Mary Magdalene, Oxford are my ancestors.  They had 3 children George, Hannah and John all born in Iffley, where Mary died in 1804.

Mary appears to have been from Horspath at the time of her marriage but I have been unable to find her parents. If anybody can help me find them I should be very grateful.

Hi,
There is a bapt... for a Mary Jones 27-4-1741 in All Saints, Oxford the d/o Thomas & Elizabeth.
As you say, nothing comes up in Horspath.

Could this baptism be of any use?

Hi,

To add to my earlier reply, there is a marriage also in All Saints,  Oxford,  for Thomas Jones to Elizabeth Cary [sic] of Kidlington by Licence on 20-8-1732.

Worth keeping incase it turns out the Mary listed is the correct one to follow.

Thank you, I have also found a bp 2 April 1738 Mary Jones parents Isaac and Sarah, brother John bp 1740.  The only real link being the name 'John'.  Ho hum!
