I'd like to thank you all for this information. I stumbled on this through a Google search and discovered some of my family history. Dr. Helen McDougall was my grandmother. Her daughter, Helen Stewart McIntosh Hendrie, was my mother. I'm very grateful to have discovered this information.

I am currently writing a book about Island Women (Hebridean) and (because your grandmother was living with her brother in Lewis before she went to Serbia) I have included some extracts of her dispatches from Serbia to the Free Church magazine The Instructor. I can send you what I've written if you like. Joni Buchanan

Hi Joni,
I apologize for not responding sooner. That sounds wonderful. If I'm not too late in responding, I'd love to read what you've written. My grandmother sounds like she was an awesome person. I wish that I had had the opportunity to know her. Regrettably, she passed away long before I was born. Thank you.
