Hello there

Does anyone have any idea where I would find more details on a relation who was a nun? She was born in 1908 but I don't have any other info, except her name etc.

This is an area I have found very difficult to research too.
Without knowing the order they are very difficult to follow up on.
I do hope someone post a reply to you that will help.


Because they gave up their earthly name many who died before 1966 (and within a couple of years) were registered as their religious name and sometimes without reference to their birth name which is really stiffling.

Any idea where her convent was or what sort of order. e.g. teaching, nursing?
Catholic Family History Society have a publication 'Index to Nuns'. Catholic FHS old website had blogs about various topics.
She may have joined the order which taught at a school she attended or another local order.
