hi all
i am new to this site, and geneology
my great grand father was Capt John William Nicholson, with a with by the name of Ann Katrine Nicholson
both buried in the Hillsborough cemetry in AK, New Zealand
what i am trying to do is to find his relatives
i have his birth date as 8 July , but cant find one that matches 1846?? 1851..yes
i think his parents were John and Hannah
i dont know of ang siblingss
i know he had an uncle who came to NZ, and built a house in Mangonui, and had something to do with the Customs
any info would be greattly appriciated

i have been looking for that newspaper cutting, i did have that..from an original..but i lost ALL my family tree stuff a few years back

Get the printouts NOT the certs.They often have more information and the bonus is they are cheaper too ;D ;D
It seems they divorced in 1908

my aunt said he would turn in his grave if he knew she was next to him...all makes sense now

I think your investigation deserves a topic of its own!

one here in Ak, the other in vancouver
i gave them acess to my tree on myheritage, but so far they have not added anything to it

Son was Harry Francis Carter 1879-1939 married a Masen Violet Nee Nicholson 1886-1976 .
Her parents (Masen) was Captain John William Nicholson 1846-1928 married Anna Katrine Pedersen or Pederson? 1854-1935.
Anna was Danish. Masen's brother was George William Nicholson 1878-1968 was a All Black. Visited Uk 1905.
