Hi everyone.
I am currently tracing the Connor family in Northern Ireland.
William Connor 1831-1903 Ballinderry
Marriage 1848?
Ellen McCormick 1825-1903
Children Ballinderry
George 1850-1929
Henry 1863-1935
Margaret (Mary) 1864
Francis
Anyone with any information regarding the family or a forum would be a great help.
Look forward to your input.
Ray

Which Ballinderry? There is one in Antrim and two in Londonderry/Derry.
Or do you mean the RC Parish of Ballinderry which straddles Derry and Tyrone?
-
• Ballinderry, Tullyballydonnell, Co Antrim, Northern Ireland
-
The townland of Tullyballydonnell in the Civil Parish of Ballinderry
Reg district is Lurgan
RC Parish is Aghagallon https://registers.nli.ie/parishes/0380
Margaret's birth cert
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1864/03609/2331582.pdf
mother appears to use the first name Lena
is this the correct Margaret?
-
Is this your William Connor in Tullyballydonnell townland (Ballinderry D.E.D.)? if so, wife Dinah? (appears to be mixed marriage)
www.census.nationalarchives.ie/pages/1901/Antrim/Ballinderry/Tullyballydonnell/1002948
William Connor was a widower and daughter Maggie the informant-

Yes that's them. Brilliant researching. :)
-
There's a civil marriage 1848 Lurgan district for a William Connor to Helena ? (possible match Helena McCormack). Being a mixed marriage a non-Catholic ceremony quite possible. GRONI gives date as 15 May 1848 Craigavon registration district.
-
I'll take it that was the correct Margaret so
-
Hi guys, sorry for the delay, I was called away from the computer and when I got back on it was very late.
The help is amazing and I truly appreciate it.
The marriage between Helena and William is the correct one. Looked on pay per view, the area is Tullyballydonnel.
Now what I am looking for, for these people are possible burial sites. Headstones etc. Any clues?
-
Exactly where did the marriage take place?
Finding place of burial can sometimes be difficult , especially if there's no headstone. Usually only the Church of Ireland recorded burials.
Have you traced all the children and their descendants? sometimes families kept using the same plot and descendants will have details you don't yet know.
Now that we have the correct family we can start looking in various places for more details.

Did William & Lena's son George marry Agnes Lewis?
-
Yes. on 3 Jan 1877 The Register office Lurgan.
They also had 5 children.
George and Agnes Lewis are my Great Grandparents.
-
In that case... "Francis Connor" was Frances.
Fanny Connor was a witness to marriage of George & Agnes (records for their children have confirmed grandmother as Lena Connor of Tullyballydonnell).
Frances Connor married (1881 Lurgan Registry Office) Thomas McDonnell

-
That's correct also. Now the other Francis I am looking for information on is. Francis Connor abt 1904
The parents are Henry Connor and Mary Carlisle. Henry is the brother of Francis
-
I have a birth in Drumnadrough
-
That's correct also. Now the other Francis I am looking for information on is. Francis Connor abt 1904
The parents are Henry Connor and Mary Carlisle. Henry is the brother of Francis
Francis Connor born Collinward not Drumnadrough- mother Carroll rather than Carlisle-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1904/01842/1718907.pdf
Mary Alice's birth also gives maiden name as Carroll-
https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/birth_returns/births_1900/02010/1772443.pdf
-
Now I'm really confused as on the Marriage for Henry and Mary Ann, it states Carlisle. Though what you're saying could explain it. I am now wondering if I have the right marriage.
-
After a further check, there is no other marriage, so that would suggest that Carlisle is a misprint of Carroll.
-
Carroll isn't a misprint- both births clearly give Carroll as mother's maiden name (older children all with Carlisle born Tullyballydonnell & Drumnadrough but last 2 at Collinward). There are several possible explanations for using both Carlisle and Carroll but it certainly the right family.

I see. Thanks so much for letting me know.
Anything else you can find would be most helpful. :) :) :)
