Fantastic set of results there Sandra. Hope you hear from the tree owner.
Sadly i have messaged half a dozen tree owners recently - all active in the last few weeks - but not yet heard from any of them.
-
Hope so. Its needs to be a near relation. and its amazing how many people are 6 x cousins once removed !!!
With the new GDPR regulations CWGC are unable to instigate contact with anyone without their permission which makes things more awkward now.

There’s a Ridout on the Ponty Facebook site so have tagged her just in case, though the spelling is slightly different.

My husband has a distant relative in Ton Pentre - re the probate of William David Morgan - so have messaged him.
PS the hospital in the probate entry is the Porth hospital (not Port).

There’s a death of an Ann Rideout, born 1885, in Pontypridd in 1973. Will try and find out more details tomorrow, might be able to find out who arranged the burial.
-
A memorial notice for him

His wife Ann is buried with him (died aged 88). A friend will have a look for their records tomorrow; it may give us some info though still a long time ago.
-
Thank you for your efforts on this one. Good progress. Hopefully a relative will come forward. Fingers crossed.

Sandra, i have copies of both the burial records. The grave was purchased by Ann in 1917; Lewis’ burial was arranged by F G Rideout (his father). Sadly I can’t read the name of the person who arranged Ann’s but from digging through the trees on Ancestry I don’t get the feeling that we will find any close relatives through the burials.
Unfortunately the relative I contacted didn’t know of William David Morgan and Lewis’s sister Elizabeth Maud.

Sorry for delay in replying. Thank you for all your efforts, much appreciated.

Hi
Welcome to RootsChat
It was the Commonwealth War Graves Commission who were appealing for relatives in April 2019.
If you could help then CWGC would love to hear from you. The contact name is MO Russell.
This was the link to the appeal - Pvt Lewis Henry Ridout was third from bottom on this list (not very clear I'm afraid.)

Thank you.
