Title: Walsh/Moore Athy
Post by: KC83 on Friday 17 May 19 09:38 BST (UK)
Morning all,
I am looking to try and take my ancestry back one more generation  and i am looking for information on the parents  of John Walsh 1846 Ballyfoyle and Mary Anne Moore 1852- 1898 Athy.
John Walsh and Mary Anne Moore were married in 1878 in Wolfhill.
Their children were
Mary Walsh 1879 Ballyfoyle
Sarah Walsh 1881 Ballyfoyle
Patrick Malachi Walsh 1883 Athy
Lewis Walsh 1886 Ballyfoyle
Catherine Walsh 1889 Ballyfoyle
Michael Walsh 1891 Ballyfoyle
Edward Walsh 1892 Ballyfoyle
Is there anyone else researching this family? Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Tia
Kristen

Their marriage record is online with their father's names LINK (https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/marriage_returns/marriages_1878/11119/8070648.pdf)

This is probably the death of her father in 1889 at the same address LINK (https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/images/deaths_returns/deaths_1889/06124/4748743.pdf)
If correct she had a brother Michael also

probate of the will of Maria Moore

administration of Lewis's will in 1914

Michael Moore died in Kilabbin 1865 he named Lewis Moore of same place as one of his executors however he seems to have relinquished this and the other executor had died so its hard to say what relationship there is between them, Michael's wife Margaret then took over administration.

Michael and Lewis Moore may have been brother's as the ages at death have both born before 1820

Thank you hallmark
I had some info and I do want to go back further if I can, but I never had this wealth of information and I think it would have taken me a long time to gather this information, I am not familiar with counties and towns in Ireland and I don't think I would have been confident enough to look at the info, as I was getting confused between Athy, maganey, killabban an Laoise, i really appreciate all the help I've been given and I'll be sure to check out all the websites etc that you have all provided, thanks again Kristen  :)

No problem, you can use the search to get Sources for the children you've named, dates of births etc

Hi, I suspect right now that Lewis Walsh was my great-grandfather even though there are a number of points that are not too clear. He had a daughter in Athy called Mary Anne Walsh which happens to be the name and place of provenance of my somewhat lost grandmother.

Hi dmalizia,

Sorry for the late reply!! Did you get any further on your Lewis Walsh connection?

I have a Lewis Walsh in my tree. Brother to my great grandfather Patrick Walsh.

The particulars I have are Lewis Walsh 1886-1951 married Margaret Shelly. The only children I have found at the moment are a Bridget and Patrick Walsh. Hope this helps!!

Cheers

Hi
MaryAnn Broderick was my great aunt aka Aunt Molly. My Dads Aunt. She married twice, i remember her second husband. Molly was a lovely person. She had a brother (dont know his story) and two other sisters. One being my grandmother, Margaret Walsh. Their youngest sister (aunt Biddy) died a spinster. None are alive now. I am also researching my family. I know very little but what is online.
