I am searching for information on the parents of Mark and Mary Conroy (who were married in Jan 1877 in Oughterard.) Mark was born 17 Mar 1853 and Mary was born 8 Sep 1853. From their marriage document, their parents are listed as Patrick Conroy and John Joyce. I would like to find the birth dates of Patrick and John as well as the maiden names of their wives. They are likely to have lived in the Griggins or Curr areas. My DNA tests give lots of matches with Joyces and Coynes. I have found that in 1901 in Curr many of the cottages were owned by Conroys or Joyces. I would greatly appreciate any help you might be able to give me.

Parish records are very poor for that parish.

From their marriage document, their parents are listed as Patrick Conroy and John Joyce... of what addresses?
Any at those addresses in 1901 ??

There are no addresses listed for Patrick Conroy and John Joyce on the marriage register. They are both listed as landholders. Mark Conroy and Mary Joyce are both listed as residing in "Cuir." Witnesses were Ellen Conroy and Patrick Conroy. The marriage took place in the Chapel at Kilmilkim. (Not sure about the latter spelling). I am pretty sure that Mark's parents were Patrick Conry and Mary Joyce. Mark Conry was baptized in the parish of Rosmuck. I have just received the following additional information from an Irish distant cousin: " I suspect Pat may have come from Rosmuc. I know Mary had two sisters, one of whom survived until the 1920s. Her name was Julia (Judy) and her married name was Wallace. The other sister (Bridget I think) was married to a Joyce in Tiernakill. I think they had a brother called Martin. They seemed to have connections with a village near Leenane called Glanagimla ( Sometimes Glanagevla)."
I hope this additional information helps. It currently is about all I have.

Did you look for death of father?

Thanks. I've already exhausted most of the relevant information on that site. I have looked for the death of Patrick and John but there are several possibilities and I can't be sure of which one is correct. I am hoping someone might have some information in a family bible that might provide answers. I have checked out Ancestry, FindMyPast, and Family Search as well as Gedcom.
