Elwyn Alexander Wyatt Wride born 1888-1956 Cardiff Wales, parents Thomas Wyatt Wride and Mary Mason. Sometime before World War 1 Elwyn moves to the USA. On the 1920 census Elwyn is single and living in Minnesota with Lawrence H Schroder and Le Roy R Lee, also states that Elwyn came over to the States in 1905.
Now I am confused, Elwyn must travel back to Wales sometime or maybe several times,on the 2nd October 1936 he travels from Southampton to New York, with him is a Marion Wride. Yes you may well think she would be his wife, look below. There is no other female in the family of that time called Marion.
I do not have full membership to ancestry so went to the library this morning came back with this information which I have been trying to get my head though.

Willoween B Godfrey
Marriage date 3 March 1918
Place Ann Arbor Michigan
Decree date 2 July 1924

No of children 1
Devorce status granted
.........................................................................................
Willoween dies in 1980 betails below
https://www.findagrave.com/memorial/26871551/willoween-duell
Now her surname is Duell????
---------------------------------------------------------------
What I have gathered Willoween divorces Charles in 1924, marries Elwyn in 1927, fine but looks like she gets married in 1937 to William Morton no mention of him afterwards, and where does the surname Duell come from? Then there is Marion Wride in 1936. Why Elwyn names his Grandparents as his parents? His father does marry 4 times, his mother Mary Mason was Thomas's 3rd wife.
Any assistance to sort this out would be greatly appreciated

There is a WW1 Draft Registration card for an Elwyn Alexander Wride (b 1888, Cardiff) showing him as single but with 2 children dependent on him. Working as a book-keeper and living in Ohio.
Just to confuse things there is an Elwyn Wride born 1897 in Utah. ::)

Oh cannot keep up with all these marriages. Although Elwyn was down as single in 1920 he was divorced. Another bit of information, Elwyn's father Thomas died in 1905 the year he first came to the States.

Here is Elwyn, wife Esther & son Cecil immigrating to the US in 1912. Their destination is Esther's father place.
The record also states Elwyn was in the US before. From 1905-1908 he was in Montana, leaving in Sept. 1908. I assume back to Canada.
The family appears on lines 27-29. Images 20 & 21 of the passenger list.
