Title: Marriage
Post by: WMac55 on Saturday 25 May 19 18:34 BST (UK)
I am helping a friend with their family tree and am trying to find information on a marriage of Alexander Jamieson and Mary Spratt, both born in Ireland, they had a daughter Margaret born  on 7th September 1903 and who died in Glasgow on 29th July 1987. Any help would be appreciated

Welcome to rootschat.

Where was Margaret born?

Do you have them in 1911?   If so how many years had they been married? Ages? Occupation?

Occupation of Alexander on Margaret’s birth cert?

The residences of the groom and bride: Ednego and Kilmacrew townlands.
Ednego is in Dromore civil parish.
Kilmacrew is in Magherally civil parish.

The only other information I have is that Alexander Jameson's parents had a Horse Farm in Dromore called Jameson Gate or Gait.

I would like to thank all who have assisted with this query.

Hi WMac55  your query was just on the marriage of Alexander Jamieson and Mary Spratt and their daughter Margaret.  do you want further historical family history working backwards on either or both, for your friend.   There is a lot of possible relevant information.

Hi BallyaltikilliganG,

Thank you, any information would be very much appreciated. My friend has only bits and pieces of info and with the other replies to my original query I seem to have got lost in trying to get the people right.

If you don't mind I would be grateful for any other historical info you could provide.

Regarding the horse farm, Dromore held an annual horse fair on the last Saturday in September from well before 1900.   however the nearest I could find was 1984 a photo by Frenchman Glles Peress  https://www.artic.edu/artworks/121486/horse-show-dromore-county-down.

Dromore and District Local Historical Group Journal has online 1-4 volumes 1991-4 eg http://lisburn.com/books/dromore-historical/Journal-1/journal-1-photos.html
