Can anyone please help in reading the placename at the start of the third line down. It features in the wills of Montague Farrer who died in 1762 and of his son Henry who died a year later.

Harraby Hill is just outside the city centre (1mile), south of Carlisle on the A6, all built up now. Its were the executions of the Jacobites took place in 1745 rebellion, sometimes called Gallows Hill.
There seem to several documents in Cumbria Archives in relation to Montague Farrer.

If you can't locate an old map showing it, this might be a bit of a workaround:
In the newspaper Carlisle Patriot 06 February 1846, there is a list of all people dealing with a bank, with most people being listed as of Carlisle (including a widow Farrer), but there is a farmer, William Carruthers, of Cuddick. Maybe you can find him on the 1841 to get a better sense of where he was?

That area is now called Currock, so that makes sense. There is an large old house on Lediard Ave, called Currock House and this fits with Cuddick on the map.

Thank you all for various helpful comments. I have plenty on Montague Farrer, but found this place name on both his and his son’s wills.
