I would like a copy of Richard Gregory Croft Nichols Death Certificate. he died 12 August Victoria British Columbia Canada. Familysearch have his Death Record on their site but I am unable to view the original as it is unavailable. Canada BDM's -Death Certificates cannot be ordered over 100 years old.
Can anyone advise me if there is anywhere else I can obtain a copy of the original certificate.
Also I am having the same problem viewing Victoria British Columbia 1911 Census Original Records can anyone advise me where I could find these.

May I ask who says that death certs over 100 years are not available?
There is no mention of it that I could find.
"Death registrations are available from 1872 - 1996 or 20 years after the date of death" from

Canadian Passenger List shows the arrival of Ellen Nichols aged 50 years and Richard Nichols 84 years - Liverpool to Quebec - 3 July 1908 on the Empress of Britain. Note on the manifest which is attached below.

Perhaps the age on the passenger list for Ellen Nichols is not quite correct - census shows 1843
Ellen was the (sister-in-law) wife of Richard's brother George H Nichols who passed away 1875.
Presume the son was Richard Grenside Nichols who passed away in Australia 1917. Daughter Edith Elizabeth Nichols Palmer also passed away in Australia 1947. Ellen E Nichols passed away in Hasting in 1925 so there must be a return passenger list for Ellen and a passenger list for her son Richard Nichols born 1871 going to Canada.

This must be the son of Ellen who had gone to British Columbia a few years earlier.
Canadian Passenger Lists Rich G Nichols born about 1871 - Liverpool to Montreal Quebec - arriving 15 July 1905 on the Virginian.

Hi,
One place to look is the Royal BC Museum. http://search-collections.royalbcmuseum.bc.ca/Genealogy
To find your fellow, I had to search with just a last name, male, and just put in the year.
Frequently you can see the actual death registration but sometimes not, and sadly, this is one that is without the image. However, it does give the registration number etc. and an email address. Maybe you could email them about getting a copy.
