Please can someone help with filling out the mother's details - Josepha daughter of Johann Ballan and Elizabeth
Child is Veronica Jäckel, dau of Ferdinand of house 37 in Eulau (Tetschen region), now Jílové, Czechia, born 23rd Oct 1814 - bottom of page folio 145

Thanks Dave, that's brilliant! Do you think the place name Lissa could actually be Tyssa, which is a small village in the Aussig/Usti district?

And could the LInz be this one - now known as Mlynce

I had a look at some of their other childrens baptisms and still struggled to make out the occupation of Johann - but in the earlier records his surname looks like Pallans. I have a similar thing with my Bergers becoming Perger and even Pegr as you go back. Which spelling do you think I should use when entering on my tree?

yes Mlynce is Linz.
If you open the link you will find "Mlýnec je německy Linz" meaning "Mkynce, in German Linz"

I always write the names as i find them in the records. Except when it´s an obvious spelling mistake.
Many people were illiterat those days and the clerks wrote "what they heard, or thought they had heard"
