According to the 1911 Channel Islands' census, this was then the residence of Elizabeth Jane Penrose and her daughters Mabel and Evelyn Maude. In the late 1920s (from a 1927 street directory) it was the residence of William and Ellen Stranger, William dying in 1930.
http://www.greatwarci.net/honour/guernsey/database/stranger-g-ploegsteert.htm This repeats the address, but was it the family's address in 1918, or information added from a later date.
Is it possible to find who was living at 36 Hauteville though the 1910s, especially 1917-1919?
many thanks
John
