Title: Trying to reunite Medal with family
Post by: munchies on Sunday 16 June 19 23:09 BST (UK)
I have been having a clearout and found a medal that I think I picked up at a car boot sale or somewhere about 20 years ago that I meant to research but most stuff wasn’t online then

Anyway it’s a WW2 Medal with Palestine 1945-1948 bar on it it has the name H Dearden and the number T 14472826 round the edge and I have found the medal card entry on ancestry but not sure where to go from here as it simply says H Dearden on the card entry

Have you tried looking for a matching family tree on Ancestry. Maybe it would be a good idea to post a message on the Armed Forces Board too.
Good Luck.

If its any help  the site "Forces War Records" has some info that states he was a driver with
the RASC.
...Served with 40/42 Company (Infantry Brigade and Divisional Troops Combined), Royal Army Service Corps during the qualifying period.
It gives no extra personal info.

May be worth asking a moderator to change title of thread to include the name so that anyone in family doing an internet search finds it?

ADDED:
https://www.royallogisticcorps.co.uk/museum/
This museum includes the RASC archives; s*d's law but it closed yesterday [31 Oct 2019] to reopen in new premises in 2021! Perhaps an archivist may answer wmails though if asked about an individual driver's records.

What do the last few columns on the medal issue sheet mean?
