Title: Navy Lists / Service Records 1920-1935. Thomas William Hugill.
Post by: dave1948 on Sunday 23 June 19 10:49 BST (UK)
Hi guys,
I sent for my Grandads Service Records which I have now received. The records only show his service from 1935 till his retirement in 1945. The attached letter says his earlier records would be at TNA Kew.  I have already got the only record they have, 1912 when he signed up till 1917.

The Book, The Navy Lists, with him in, seem to stop in 1920, restarting in 1939/40.

I found a couple of snippets of promotion in The London Gazette during this time.

Why are there no records either personally or Navy List Book for this period?  Where else can I try to find out what happened during this time?

Thanks for any help,  Dave.

Not so - he's in the Navy Lists throughout the 1920's and 1930's.

Hi Shaun,
Thanks for your reply and the link.
Online, FindMyPast and NLS only show the years up to 1920, and after 1940, so assumed wrongly. Will go to Kew to see all the copies they have.
Thanks again,, Dave
