Hi,
Can someone please help me to translate the handwriting on the back of a picture frame into English? Or let me know what language is it? Please see the attached picture.
Thank you!

My first impression is that of an address for a Mme (madame) PuoXXXX in Macao (Macau?), but so far no luck mapping any of the other words...

Some of the letters look like Russian script to me.

I studied Russian decades ago and can't remember much, but this is written in the Cyrillic alphabet and the last word is Sevastopol (initial letter corrected). The word starting with 'X' is a transliteration of Holst, I think.

If the last word is Cevastopol then it maybe Sevastopol a largest city on the Crimean Peninsula and a major Black Sea port. ;D

Sorry, my mistake :-[
Of course it's 'S' in our alphabet - told you it'd been a long time :D

The word that looks like Macau is 'maslo' which means oil - does this frame hold an oil painting?

Yes please! And wow, was I ever far off the mark! ::)

Thanks again everyone! Here is a photo of the painting. The photo doesn't look as nice as the painting itself (have to make it small). I like the colors.

Thank you Dean. It looks very peaceful.

Very nice, thank you!
If you google Cape Fiolent and look through the images, you can see how the artist must have climbed down a fair ways for that vantage point. Lovely!
