Hitting a brick wall with
South Australia:
James Henry Bosanquet...... From his death certificate
78 years old died 10th March 1941.....115 Payneham Road St Peters
born in Cornwall and had been in the commonwealth for 62 years was a widower
one living son
I believe his burial = West Terrace cemetery as Henry Bosanquet...
I then have a Frances James Bosanquet who on Trove records for his marriage ( have this date) "only son of late Mr & Mrs. J. H. Bosanquet Late of Melbourne" and his death was in 1989
I have seen a James Henry Bosanquet on 1891 census and "seaman" Birth Date: 10 Feb 1868
Birth Place: Gwennap, Cornwall
First Service Date: 15 Mar 1883
First Ship Served On: Ganges
Last Service Date: 17 Mar 1900
but this record doesn't seem to fit as the death record would say he came to Aus if I do the maths correctly in 1879...
I can't locate a Marriage, or an electoral roll or a birth of Son Frances James Bosanequet
I have looked at other "Roots" forums re the Bosanquet name but these don't seem to lead anywhere....
Any info would be much appreciated on both James Henry (alias Henry) and Francis James
Cheran ??? :)

Can you clarify please, do you do you, or not have a marriage date for Frances James BOSANQUET?

Thanks Sue for looking but I did have that so sorry for the confusion as it is the engagement notice that records the Late Bosanquets. I appreciate that you took the time to have another look at the trove record..
this the engagement record
The Advertiser (Adelaide, SA : 1931 - 1954) Thu 24 Dec 1942 Page 8 Family Notices
HOOKINGS—BOSANQUET.—The engagement is announced ot Laurel M, only daughter Mr. & Mrs. W J. Hookings. Barker rd., Prospect, to Francis J., only son of late Mr & Mrs. J. H. Bosanquet Late of Melbourne.

Not totally relevant, but there is a Bosanquet Avenue in Prospect.

I think in honour of Sth Aust 16th Governor

No connection? Bosanquet is not exactly a common name.

https://www.familysearch.org/ark:/61903/1:1:VFVX-STQ

Thanks Jamar
"
its a big help...
The age on James Henry Bosanquet bornd redruth is a little closer but if he was still in England in 1881 that wouldn't match the "been in the commonwealth" 62 years on the death certificate I would be looking for his arrival to be about 1879
I think it will essential to get the marriage certificate but either way if its John as James father I am still not going to know which is the correct one.
Still can't find a record for a "Bosanquet"into Victoria though!

Laurel M Hookings did actually marry Francis James. They are buried together at Centennial Park Cemetery. Her ashes were interred on 27 Mar 2001.
https://www.centennialpark.org/memorial-search/laurel-mary-bosanquet-498748/
That's fairly recent so the cemetery might still have viable family contact details, if you contact the cemetery to find out.
Her death notice appeared in The Advertiser on 24 Oct 2000, according to the Savil Index (which lists when it occurred, not what it said)
http://www.slsa.ha.sa.gov.au/fh/savill/savill-B.html
Her full name was Laurel Mary Hookings born 1911 in Adelaide.

Francis James Bosanko joined the Militia for a year! The exclamation point is because the service record provides good civilian info - you can download the service record from the NAA site. Search on "Francis James Bosanko" on the home page, and then click "View digital copy" from the Item Details Page which the search takes you straight to.
http://www.naa.gov.au/
I'm not sure how much of a done deal the Bosako / Bosanquet thing is, but it looks like a serious possibility to me. The service record neither proves nor disproves it. It shows FJB still in Victoria in 1931-1932 and still single.

Have you had a good look at Trove?
