I am searching for info on my merchant seaman grand father.
I have checked the merchant navy pouches collections at the national archives.
These pouches state a discharges number.
I am hoping I can look up these discharge numbers somewhere that will provide more detailed information
Where do I look to in reference to discharge number?

Firstly, not all seamen's pouches have survived. Many were destroyed prior to 1969.
Secondly, pouches are not the only records available. Form CRS10 from series BT382 is the main personal record but that only starts from January 1941. Also if one survives it is not available online and would have to be viewed by visit to the National Archives Kew or via a researcher. It would be easy enough to point you to the correct file given a name and date/place of birth. Form CRS10 is not searchable by discharge number.
I note your user name is lascar. If, perhaps, you were searching for an Indian seaman the search would be more difficult.

The info I have to go on. Yes he was a Indian Lascar.
Last name: ULLAH
First: MONFOR or MONOFOR or MONOOFOR or something similar
Place of birth: SYLHET - this may have been listed as also ASSAM or INDIA
He died on board a ship that got destroyed in the WORLD WAR 2

I have some experience with Indian seamen as many were lost on the same ship as my father in 1942. I can tell you they are not easy to research or identify due to the common names etc. For example there were many M. Ullah's lost on Merchant Navy ships at sea during the war.
Do you know his date of birth and I presume you do not know which ship he died on?
