My great, great grandmother's birth place is listed as Felinbyrhedyn, Montgomeryshire. But I can't find this place on a map, and only get three results of Welsh newspapers when I try to google it. Does anyone know if it's a real place, or if it's misspelled or incorrect in any way. I'm really struggling to find her family in previous censuses and if I could pinpoint her birthplace a little better I feel I might be able to find them.

There is one near Machynlleth which is probably yours.

Melin-Byrhedyn

Melin is a mill and it changes to Felin when a word such as "y" comes before it.
Hedyn means seed, and byr means short, so it looks as though there was some sort of flour mill there.

Add    the majority of them are in Welsh,
should you  need help, I could give you a rough translation.

If you go to this map (zoom out a few times) you can see the exact location of the mill. There is a line of buildings and the bottom one is Felin.
