What product are you trying to link them in?

Ancestry/Family Search or a software product on your computer?

You need to be a bit more specific.

you have your father on tree....do you have his father (your g/father) on tree?

If you have then put this brother as a son of g/father.

You have your mother... do you have her parents?  If so, put mother's sister on tree as their other daughter, then marry father's brother to mother's sister.

There are only two ways that individuals can be directly linked in any software I have tried, either as parent/child or as husband/wife. All other relationships are derived from those two, e.g. brother, cousin, aunt, etc.

If you don't  know the parents of the brothers (or the sisters) you will need to create them, using the surname which you presumably know plus something like 'unknown' as the given name which can be corrected later when you discover the actual name.

Maybe I am missing something blindingly obvious, or just being stupid, but Ancestry did this for me. I have two Eaton sisters marrying two Gahan brothers. When it draws the tree the lines cross at different heights, but it is very clear who is married to whom.

Just check that all both parental relationships and marital relationships are correct for each individual. The software will figure out where to place them if you get that right.

Thanks for all the replies, it doesn’t work on any of the sites Ancestry, family search and so on. Still doesn’t connect that my uncle and aunt are blood on both sides of my tree. I’ve put in both all the details of parents and marriages 🤔

If I understood your question,  the software program you are relying on is simply not able to cope with the double marriages ... .... so perhaps if you make new parents for the couple who are the brother / sister of your direct line,  ... give correct surnames and give the male 'duplicateentry_doubleblood_see xYZ' as first name  and similar for female,' .....see abc'  for her first name ....

And then in the notes/remarks, write explanation 'this record created in a software version that does NOT provide  adequately for the opportunity for the situation where two biological siblings marry and their respective spouses coincidentally are siblings to each other.    '

And then note the actual given  names of the relatives  :) in
A) the notes about them
B) the notes about the fake new parents
C) the two people who are your direct line who are their siblings

And then write long complaint to software supplier pointing out that double blood first cousins are not rare, and that long before software took over ,  hand drawn charts handled it with ease.

In my tree on Ancestry, I have a brother and sister, marrying a brother and sister. Here are two views showing the display of their relationship - each from the POV of the parents of these siblings.

Thanks again for everyone’s input but I’ve now managed to make them into twins gods knows how I managed to mess it up again ☹️.

Try this
Start with the first set of children who married I shall call them Alan Brown and Alice Smith.
Add parents for Alan Brown (Parent Brown and his wife Parent X)

Add second son of Parent Brown and his wife Parent X (I shall call him Brian Brown)

Go back to Alice Smith and add her parents (Parent Smith and his wife Parent Y)
Add second daughter of Parent Smith and his wife Parent Y (I shall call her Betty Smith)

Staying with Betty Smith add her husband Brian Brown

Check all relationships are correct

Cheers
Guy

I think the crucial step for this on Ancestry is the 'Add Family member' which is in a drop-down menu.

If you've already added your mother and your father, then add your grandparents and your parents' siblings.

When you get to the bit where you want to add the husband of your aunt (who is also an uncle) then click on Spouse in the drop-down menu, and then click on 'Select someone in your tree' (which is for people that you have already added to the tree) and type in the name of your father's brother.

It's very easy to inadvertently add a person twice, but if you do you can merge them.

They would need to have same birth date to be twins.

Harworth, hallmark and guy thank you I’ve tried all the above, no more twins but half brothers 🤔 I’ll delete and add the relatives again . On my mums and her sisters side I’ve put in both their parents and children, then the same on my dads side. I’m also getting my 2nd great grandmother as my 2nd great grandads wife not showing as my actual 2nd great grandmother? If that make sense.

Before you start deleting folks just go into edit relationships for each profile and check that you have the correct relationships applied. If someone is showing as a half sibling then you are just missing a parental relationship.

I think I’ve found the problem, when I accepted hints on Ancestry site , I’ve somehow made 2 profiles for my grandad. After going back to check things when I accepted information from another family’s tree they had my grandads birth wrong.
