Hello
I am looking for details of the marriage between Harold Eglesfield and Emily E Barrett in the September quarter of 1952 in Oxford.
Many thanks

You will probably have to purchase the certificate unless you know at which church it took place
-
Are you 100% sure that the two parties are deceased?
We do not relate any information on the still-living.

Church of England marriage records for Oxfordshire are available on Ancestry but only up to 1930.
Do you know whether they married in the city itself?

In 1958 they were both at 60 Viola Avenue, Feltham.
-
Were his parents Arthur and Florence?

Thank you all for your help :)
I don't know at which church the marriage took place.
I am 100% sure the two parties are deceased.
Thank you for the address they lived in 1958.
Yes, his parents were Arthur and Florence.

Is it worth putting a query about the marriage on the county board for Oxford? Someone may be able to help you further there, if it was a church/chapel wedding.
If it was not, but in a Register Office, that's a bit less easy, but:
As you have the full names of the people involved, and an approximate timescale, you could send for the wedding certificate, specifying that the groom should have as father Arthur, but of course there's a fee to pay.
Is there anything else that we may be able to help you with?

Thank you ThrelfallYorky. I will try the county board for Oxford. :)
Also thank you rosie99 for the information that you have given me. :)

I doubt that you will get details from a 1952 marriage without buying the certificate. As it appears that they had been living together and had children in the 1930,s there is the likelihood it was a register office marriage.

Harold and Emily were my grandparents. There was a lot of mystery here which we have only recently discovered.
I'm happy to talk to anybody who thinks they may be related
