I'm looking for any information I can find on my great great grandparents Daniel Young and Bridget Blanch (though family lore says her surname was Griffin)
All I have been able to find is a parish birth record for someone I believe is my great grandfather Lawrence Young born 1841 in Paulstown, Goresbridge and perhaps his brother Robert in 1844. Lawrence's death certificate from 1911 says he was born in Kilkenny
They eventually ended up in Trenton, NJ around 1850.
Are there any Youngs or Blanchs still in this area?
I've not had much luck finding any other info, no parish marriage records or anything. Daniel was born +/-1815 and Bridget +/- 1820. Any suggestions on where to search will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!
I found my gg grandfather's baptismal record along with 2 of his siblings AND I found my ggg grandparent's marriage record from 1838!! Seems they're from Castlekelly
The brick wall is starting to crack ;D

You are welcome!

"...They eventually ended up in Trenton, NJ around 1850...."
Who is they? The 2 named or all of them?
If any stayed then Civil Reg started 1864 for R.C's
https://www.swilson.info/regdistmap.php?gregdistid=89 shows the District for there.
So http://www.rootschat.com/links/01o4d/ gets on Deaths 1864 to 1900, for example as per Search performed.
If any Married then change it to Marriages and use year ranges 1864 to 1870 etc
the site is free but you have to do Security check and Sign in, I just press any 2 keys ;D to sign in!

They all headed to NJ I believe in 1852. Daniel and Bridget lived until 1880 and 1884 respectively in Trenton, NJ. The children Lawrence, Robert and Anne spent the rest of their lives in NJ as well.
There is some confusion as to Bridget's maiden name. Some family lore says she was a Griffin but the
paper trail show she was a Blanchfield before marrying Daniel Young in 1838. Maybe this was her second marriage.
I'm currently trying to make a link to a Lawrence Young that I've found in Griffiths as potentially Daniel's father based on naming practices

Good to see you're making good progress!
Bridget lived until 1884 and died how old?
-
I believe she was 64, born in 1820. I have however found a couple of different dates 1810 and 1818. I don't have an actual obituary or death certificate (yet anyway) but 1820 appears to be the date most consistently used.
Thanks for your help

Doesn't leave much time for it to be a second Marriage!
-
I agree, she would have been very young to have 2 marriages by the time she's 18 if the 1820 is correct.
I found the marriage record from 1838 and can read Daniel Young to Bridget Blanch P. Walter Griffin
- - - - - - Castlekelly. (Maybe Margaret Delahunty??)
I'm having trouble reading the citation after Griffin and before Castlekelly on the marriage record - any idea what that might say? Wondering if it provides any additional info that'll be helpful.

Not really helpful, names of witnesses at marriage
