Hello everyone,
I‘m trying to find out where Eliza Peacock born 1830 in Warfield Berkshire was, when the 1851 and 1861 census was taken. She had a illegitimate daughter Elizabeth Peacock in August 1851 in Warfield but her daughter lived with her uncle and aunt in 1851 and 1861 , so where was her mother Eliza Peacock?
I know that she married 1863 in Easthampstead John Barber and moved with him to Worcestershire where she died in 1894.
Can someone help ?

Erm, a child b in August 1851 will not appear on the 1851 census.
Are those dates right?
-
Oh sorry, Elizabeth Peacock was with uncle and aunt 1861/71 not 1851 , my fault
-
1861 she is Eliza Peacock c 1832 Waresfield, Berkshire, a Servant in Kwempsey, Worcestershire with the Smith Family.
-
Great! Thank you, now we just have to find out where Eliza was in 1851?

Yes, In 1841 she was with her grandfather in Warfield, Berkshire Henry Taylor. Parents of Eliza were John Peacock and Sarah Taylor but Sarah died before the 1841 census. I don’t know why Eliza lived with her Grandfather and not with her father .
Still curious to know where she was in 1851 ?? ???

:) Still looking for her 1851, see Eliza Peacock is shown as aged 8 in 1841 with her Grandfather Henry Taylor occ Beershop?
Possibly just could be staying or expexted to stay the night, as on previous page to John and family, HO107/31/ 5/4 / 2 Henry is at The Oak

EDIT Sarah Peacock was buried 7th July 1839 St Michael, Warfield aged 33

A census is a snapshot of one day in a year, she could have been staying the night

1861 she is Eliza Peacock c 1832 Waresfield, Berkshire, a Servant in Kwempsey, Worcestershire with the Smith Family.
OK why on 1841/61 is Eliza b c 1832 and not as baptism date 1830?

Hi Keyboard86 and rosie99, good to know ;)
I don’t know why her age on the census is different but I‘m sure the Eliza Peacock born 1830 in Warfield is the right one because her illegitimate daughter is later with her family
-
Theres a E A Pecock 1851 in Hammersmith with the Wray family as a servant , born about 1833 in Purley Berkshire but don’t think it’s her ???
-
Even when married Eliza Barber is born c 1831-1832.
Pretty sure it is her in 1861 as after Marriage she is living in Kempsey also.
-
Hi if Eliza is the Eliza Barber who died June qtr 1894 Upton on Severn she was aged 65.

-
Yes, I‘m pretty sure too that the Eliza Peacock 1861 in Kempsey is my Eliza.
@Keyboard86
Yes it’s her, she went to Kempsey where her husband John Barber was from and went on to have other children and my illegitimate ancestor lived with her mothers family in Warfield Berkshire.
Still wondering where Eliza was in 1851 and why is it so difficult to trace her in 1851?
-
If someone knows where she was in 1851, please write a message , much appreciated!

Still looking for Eliza Peacock born 1830 Warfield in 1851 Census. ??? :-\
Maybe she was outside the UK? But i don’t think so but it’s a possibility.
-
I looked again for her in 1851 with no luck.
-
Could it be that not all records/Census records are online for 1851 or that not all people or citizens were written down ?
-
Yes it happens, some Census records are missing and sometimes people are left off as we have seen with other queries on here.
