I'm wondering if someone could please do a look up for the marriage of Albert Sheldon and Mary Ellen Griffiths in the 1st quarter of 1918.
My best guess is llanarmon-yn-iāl or Eryrys but that mostly comes under llanarmon-yn-iāl.
Thank you in advance.
If it helps, I'll also be asking for the births of their 5 children. I think Gwen might be the eldest and could be illegitimate, so may not have Sheldon as a surname at birth. Then it's Glyn, Dilys, Alyn and Gwilym (Gwilym is my taid so I do have his).
But if need be I can ask this in a seperate post.

From the September qtr 1911 you will find mothers maiden name shown on birth registrations on freebmd. Just search for Sheldon births with mmn Griffiths
To lookup a marriage you need to know which church it took place in

I think I've 3 options for possible churches.
St David's in eryrys or erryrys
St garmons in Llanarmon-yn-Ial
Or St Mary's in Nercwys is a possible as they are both buried their but that's Flintshire and I'm in the Denbighshire board.
I'll go and have a look on bmd now, thank you

North Wales BMD reecordsthe Marriage as a "Wrexham Civil Marriage".This means that the Marriage took place in somewhere other than the local Church.

Thank you for that.
As Welsh speakers I'd guess at Chapel then... Which one I can guess but I'm not sure.
But thank you for that

Hello
My grandmother was Gwen Griffiths and she was the younger sister to Mary Ellen. They would have been born in Bryn Onn in Nercwys near Mold to George and Maria Griffiths.
I think Maria had 13 children but not all survived) Mary Ellen, Bob, Ruth, Sarah Ernest, William and Gwen. I think there was also a son that died in Nercwys colliery at 18.
I have a number of old family photos that I would be happy to share with you.
Regards Carys

Oh my word what a lovely surprise and a lovely offer.
I would absolutely love to see copies of any family photos that you have. I don't have much from that side of my family.
I wondered around Nercwys church yard last year and spotted the grave of George and Maria. I didn't know it was there so that was a shock.
I spotted someone died young in a colliery accident, but I couldn't find anything in online newspapers. It must have been awful with him being so young.
Thank you
Pam
