Look up one or more of the childrens births on freebmd then use the GRO maiden name search to find mmn

https://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/certificates/Login.asp

You will then find their marriage in 1847 on freebmd

Checked 2 of the childrens birth entries - mmn Amphlett.

Richard Johnson and Susanna Amphlett both show in Marriage Index in Dec.qtr.1847 West Bromwich, Staffordshire.

Do you think he may have been born just plain old Thomas in 1852?

Beautiful penmanship on the marriage cert! So Emily DEAKIN married John JOHNSON.

The two DEAKIN marriages are there.

Where do they go afterwards?

Maureen, Arthur and Alice eventually moved to Warrington, Lancashire (now Cheshire due to politcal boundary changes).
John and Emily I have not looked into as Arthur Thomas is the most important one at the moment as he was my fathers grandfather.
