Can anyone advise on how I might verify the death of Sarah Griffiths in Cardigan, either in 1901 or 1907, without having to purchase two death certificates? I have found 2 records on the GRO and FreeBMD, either of which could be the lady I am researching.
GRIFFITHS, SARAH 76
GRO Reference: 1901 M Quarter in CARDIGAN Volume 11B Page 5
or alternatively
GRIFFITHS, SARAH 81
GRO Reference: 1907 S Quarter in CARDIGAN Volume 11B Page 4
Both of these records indicate a birth year around 1825 or 1826 and both death years are between the census of 1901 and 1911, so that doesn't help either.
All suggestions will be welcome.
Thanks in anticipation.

Free Reg has the burial of Sarah Griffiths, age 81, at St John, Betws Ifan, Cardiganshire, on 19 July 1907.
Does that help?

Thanks for the prompt response, Brentor boy.
I believe that confirms my Sarah Griffiths is most likely to have died in 1901. My logic is that I can find another Sarah Griffiths in the 1891 Census who was born in Bettws Evan (which I think may be the same as Bettws Ifan), implying that she is the lady who passed away in 1907.
I will order the 1901 death certificate and hope it is the correct one.
Thanks again for your assistance.
Kind regards

A registration of a death in March qtr 1901 indicates that they were most likely dead before the census on 31 March 1901

Thanks Rosie.
That makes sense as I cannot find my Sarah Griffiths in the 1901 Census. It looks like I now have the right one.
Thanks for your help
