Post by: tempogold on Monday 20 January 20 16:45 GMT (UK)
Seeking information on the Morton family from Bawnboy Caven.
John Thomas Morton was born Sept 1903 at Bawnboy to Alexander Morton and Matilda ( nee Nixon)
He and the family are  on 1911 Irish census.

He dies 3/2/1972 Stratford on avon but is interred at St Mogues R C Churchyard at Bawnboy---record on Ancestry .
Did he marry and if so to whom.?

Also buried at the same churchyard are his parents and brother William who died 13 Nov 1975.
There was also a sister Mary Ann b 1901---but not listed
as interred at the graveyard.

Grateful for any information about this family.
Many thanks

I can’t see a marriage in England.

We are not allowed to post details of 1939 register but his name is in the index in Stratford.

His will might give more information for you. The probate register index  just gives his details - no executor because of the date.

Using the Advanced Search on Civil Reg website

https://civilrecords.irishgenealogy.ie/churchrecords/advanced-civil.jsp

where both Surnames are known ( 1900+ ) only shows 2 births anywhere in Ireland

Yes I was surprised to see they were buried at the RC graveyard. Will follow up your suggestion of his will thank you. He was in England a long time then.
Thanks for all the pointers.
