Robert Douglas Andrew was a prolific script writer and his dates are apparently 19 October 1903 in Effingham, Kansas to 11 November 1976 in California - which is where the problem started as his death is under Robert H Andrews!
A Google search brings up lots of mentions including some with biographical details and some which say his name was actually Charles Robert Douglas Hardy Andrews.
Ancestry has a quite detailed listing of Kansas births 1885-1911 but no Robert or Charles or.. listed which matches. Effingham is a small town today and looking at the 1900 and 1910 had few residents then as I gather it was in the early stages of its existence - and no Andrews.
There are a couple of Robert Andrews born Kansas c1903 on 1910 census, but no match in the Kansas births on Ancestry regarding parents names.
An online archive listing based on Andrews' donations then says he was born 1908 . The 1908 is repeated elsewhere, as is his birth being in Nevada, Missouri (19 October 1903 birth date) - this is to be found in a document on Ancestry (WWII Draft Cards Young Men..) which unfortunately is to be found on Fold3 which I do not subscribe to. Ancestry does not have a Missouri births collection.
So was he born in Kansas or Missouri? I assume 1908 but was he ? Was he born Charles Robert... Andrews or Robert Hardy Andrews or Robert Douglas Andrews (various records and references exist for him under these last two names).
Incidentally one supposed reliable source says he is 19 October 1908 to 1999 but nothing found as I expected.
I only wanted to confirm his dates and name from the Wiki article (which gives no details on his origins apart from the date of birth), but seem to have given myself a number of questions which I cannot find answers to.
Can anyone help me out?
Many thanks
John

Hoping to find a marriage record (possible parents names given). They had two children. The first in Feb. 1945. So they were probably married prior to that date.

I see the two death records for her are at odds for birth year. Both have same Day/Month, but one says 1909 & the other 1913?

His parents were married at Hiawatha, Brown County in 1901 and they were still living there in 1905 so it is highly likely that he was born there.

This was the period Robert or Charles Robert Douglas Hardy Andrews was born according to some data. ???
In the obituary for Dr Robert Andrew it says - He practised in Kansas for some time. In 1905 went to Panama as a surgeon in government service, serving for 14 months as physician at the Ancon hospital on the canal. He was invalided home with yellow fever, went to Indian Territory, Oklahoma, as a government doctor at Colony, an Indian settlement. He practised for some years at Carnegie, Okla., where his daughter, Mildred Louise, died in 1908, when she was 6 years old.
