I am looking for a James Oscar Anderson (a British man from Russia). He was at the baptism of a James Oscar Müller on 18.3.1863 in Vasilyevka together with Miss Anette Bresch. He was the godfather and namesake of this person’s great-great-grandfather. Unfortunately, the name Anderson is very common in Britain, particularly in Scotland, and there is no other information. James Oscar's father was the chief administrator of Popov's estates in Vasilyevka.
Are there perhaps any English/British emigration lists to Russia, British consulate files or other files?
As he was a British subject, I assume he will have needed to report to the British consulate regularly.
I believe quite a few British people emigrated to, or worked in, Russia at the time.
Many thanks ::) ::) ::) ::)

If he was born before 1837 in England there won't be a birth registration for him. Nothing on freebmd
Have you checked Scotlands People? www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk
