What do you mean by an actual transaction?  You can obtain a complete property ownership pack or a property deed pack plus other options from the Land Registry site

This is only half a story, but several years ago, I looked into this, and I was surprised at the cost. I seem to remember it was charged by the page, and some were quite long.

£7 a page is a expensive. I recalled it being £1 several years ago. When our mortgage was paid off, the LR sent us the original 1906 papers, after they were digitised, for free. We found the land on which our house and 3 adjacent ones were built was owned by a syndicate including Sir Frederick Freake, a playboy sportsman who represented England at polo at the time.

It looks like a Victorian/Edwardian terrace house.  :)

Are trying to find out who purchased the house in 1964, or are you looking for names of all owners? Did your grandmother own the house or was she renting?

If you had some idea of names you might be able to find them in electoral rolls or post office directory?  :-\

Hi

A number of properties in Montague Road look like they may have been built sround the 1960's.

When did she cease to live there?

UK Postcode HP4 3DS applies to "the current #17"

This house was built c 1890. My gt gparents lived there for years. Initially was number 9. Street renumbered c 1920. My grandmother lived there until 1964. Gt gparents died 1941 and 1950. Neither left a will . Somehow she got the ownership and later  transferred it to my father  ?
