Help please in finding the origins of Mary Elizabeth Reece, born about 1844. 4 Jun 1868 she married John Hawke in Kapunda. John was born 7 Jun 1840 in Kea, Cornwall and died 12 Dec 1906 in Kapunda. He was the son of Richard and Jenefer Hawke, née Renfrey, and arrived in Australia on the Reliance in 1851. I have been unable to find any definite information on Mary's parents and family background. Any help appreciated.

If you check out Familysearch.org they have early passenger lists in to South Australia.. I did see a John Rees (sic) and family from Wales (which throws my Cornwall theory out the window!)

What children do you have for Mary Elizabeth REECE and John HAWKE.
When and where did Mary Elizabeth HAWKE die.
I think that REES names in Kapunda are worth considering.

This is the same registration district as the other children, but I don't see her with the family in 1851 or 1861 censuses. (Ancestry has a poor transcription and index entry for the family as RUS in 1851 census)

This is the same registration district as the other children, but I don't see her with the family in 1851 or 1861 censuses.
I had assumed that Eleanor could have been a niece/cousin and that a possible dad Thomas might have been a brother of John (b abt 1820).
That 1847 birth registration could coincide with an Eleanor born in Brecknockshire in the 1851 and 1861 census (and the 1861 census might hint at the possible reason of an immigration):
