Title: Hannibal THOMAS of Zennor - Land ownership questions
Post by: PurpleOwl333 on Thursday 05 March 20 01:31 GMT (UK)
The Will in 1726 and Inventory in 1728 of my 7xGGF, Hannibal Thomas, included the following:

A Tenement of Land in Treen in the parish of Zennor on two Lives, Two small Tenements of land in Bosprennis the one on an old Life and the other on three Lives, Two small Tenements of Land in Gulval on one old Life, Tenement in Crowlas in the parish of Ludgvan (purchased from John Bennatts, now in the possession of Peter Roberts of Ludgvan, yeoman).

I'm hoping I can get some help with the following questions, please:

Does "life" mean the number of generations who owned the land?
What is an "old life"?
Where should I look to find more info on the land, dwellings and owners?

Thanks in advance.
