Robert Thomas Collis b 1924
Stoker on a minesweeper in the RN during WW2...allegedly.
My sister’s friend needs proof that his gt grandad was in the RN. Does anyone have access to Fold3 and the like that might shed some light on this?
Many thanks in anticipation!
PS.....I have just read further down the board and see that WW2 records are not yet available for public view. So clearly, the family will need to follow the application guidelines!

Did you find him on the 1939 register?
-
It's a long shot but are there any events (birth/marriage) where his occupation might be shown?
My mum's first husband's occupation is shown on their marriage certificate as HM Forces.
