Who are William Dunn's parents? I have a Wm. Dunn in 1851 with Ann as head brothers Geo. and Robt and mother Jane Webster. Is he my William. In 1881 William and Dinah are in N. Frodingham with their children and mother at bottom named Fanny Forge. Is Fanny Forge the same Ann Webster from 1851? She does not seem to be the mother in law to William so she must be his mother. Another problem is that there is another William named William Donkin Dunn b. same time. Are they the same person? any help is most appreciated. I have spent a lot of time on familysearch.org trying to puzzle this out.

Welcome to Rootschat
Do you have a copy of the 1864 marriage cert showing his fathers name?

Dinah is aged 20 and her father is Robert, a Labourer

Is Fanny Forge the same Ann Webster from 1851?
Their ages and birthplaces do not match.

You have the wrong 1851 entry. In 1851 your William Dunn is aged 10 living in Brandesburton with his uncle and aunt William & Martha Marshall

Thank you everyone for this help. Now I will look for Fanny Dunn's parents. So William is not the son of Ann in 1851 with her mother Jane Webster. He lives with his older sister Mrs. Marshall in 1851.He is not the same person as William Donkin (Duncan)Dunn. Is a workhouse like the poorhouse for the destitute?

Image for the 1846 marriage is available on FindMyPast:
14 January 1846
Robert Forge (x), full age, widower, of Leven, Farmer. Father: John (late), Labourer
Frances Dunn (x), full age, spinster, of Hull. Father: William, Labourer
ADDED: The marriage was by licence, but I can't readily see that the Bond and/or Allegation have survived.

There is a Thomas Dunn aged 70 and Jane Dunn 71 both in the Workhouse on the same reference as given above

If William's mother was Frances Dunn and her sister was Martha and their father might be another William, where could I look for this father Wm. Dunn? I can't seem to find their father or mother.

I have received some research that says William Dunn's parents were Jonathan Dunn 1804 and Mary Wotty m. 1832 Sculcoates. His grandfather then would be John Dunn Howden , ggrandfather Geo. gggrandfather John Dunn 1749 Howden. Does this show up as probable in any other resources? Or is this research faulty?
