I've done it as well.  I'm currently having to attend Queen's Hospital, Burton on Trent, and they are wonderful.  As is my Practise Nurse in Tamworth - she is absolutely "Numero Uno" or possibly "Numera Una"  :-* :-* :-*

I was so close to death last summer...
The paramedic gave me IV adrenaline and certainly saved my life.
A surgeon with magic hands fitted stents which gave me back my health.
A rehab course gave me back my confidence.
And regular medication keeps me going.
I'm very grateful.

Thanks for posting this Carol, I have placed my heart on the map.

I read this comment by an NHS worker today and it brought tears to my eyes.

"Have you ever seen someone gasping for their last breaths? Not many have, but for those who have experienced it, you never forget the horror. I wish I could forget all the faces of the dying I saw last week."   :'(

Done!

I was social distancing but an hour ago I received a text from the NHS to say I was one of the 1.5 million vulnerable people and I had to stay in for 12 weeks. I was treated for breast cancer last year and surgeon was wonderful and all the staff. It was a bit of a surprise as I didn’t think I fitted any of the categories but I obviously do so I’ll do as I’m told. I’m on my own but I expect friends who are not one of the 1.5million will help were necessary. I’ve marked the end date in the calendar.

Now to plan the family history I will be doing with my Jones family who turned out to really be the Brierley family.

I have only just seen this topic - thank you so much for alerting us Carol --  I will most gratefully do this.

I thought this an apt topic for posting this poem - about the wonderful NHS.

 OUR NHS
(Author Unknown)

I'll tell you a tale, that's been recently written,
Of a powerful army, so Great it saved Britain,
They didn't have bombs and they didn't have planes,
They fought with their hearts and they fought with their brains,

They didn't have bullets, armed just with a mask,
We sent them to war, with one simple task,
To show us the way, to lead and inspire us,
To protect us from harm and fight off the virus,
It couldn't be stopped by our bullet proof vests,

An invisible enemy, invaded our chests,
So we called on our weapon, our soldiers in Blue,
"All Doctors, All Nurses, Your Country needs you"
We clapped on our streets, hearts bursting with pride,
As they went off to war, while we stayed inside,

They struggled at first, as they searched for supplies,
But they stared down the virus, in the whites of its eyes,
They leaped from the trenches and didn't think twice,
Some never came back, the ultimate price,

So tired, so weary, yet still they fought on,
As the virus was beaten and the battle was won,
The many of us, owe so much, to so few,
The brave and the bold, our heroes in Blue,

So let's line the streets and remember our debt
We love you, our heroes,
Lest we forget

Son is full of admiration for those in ICU; he spent just over an hour like that and got very warm with red marks over his face.

Operation was successful, one nurse soon ready to return to work.  :)

How kind.....it's suddenly got dusty in here.  :'(

He is my second son and recently became a grandpa; I am naturally worried for him.

He has had training and is ready to be deployed to look after Covid19 patients if required.

We all need to keep remembering the sterling work that the NHS workers do and the long hours they work under very difficult circumstances, the more we stick to guidelines, the safer they will be. They are all someone's, Son, Daughter, Daddy, Mummy, Grandad, Grandma et al.
Thinking of you Jan, and his Family at this worrying time, how proud you must be. I put my ❤️ on the map already when I started this post, now I will put one up for your Son from the iPad.

Hopefully this will mean the end of closures, privatisations and negotiation with Trump over drug prices forever.
Hopefully!
