Title: What became of Adam Martin?
Post by: MacGrigor on Wednesday 29 April 20 18:04 BST (UK)
Hello,

I can’t find what became of Adam Martin. He was christened in Hilperton in 1771, and then moved to Devizes. I’ve attached something that appears to have happened after his death, but I can’t work out all the legal language. The extract doesn’t give a year. Here is the link: https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=SThKAQAAMAAJ&pg=PA2257&lpg=PA2257&dq=adam+martin+devizes&source=bl&ots=IkPPjlMMUy&sig=ACfU3U3lfcHCIjQefhh1sdEXwZIC5NytGg&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwiv3PjDjY7pAhUdURUIHXeQAG0Q6AEwBHoECAMQAQ#v=onepage&q=adam%20martin%20devizes&f=false

I’ve also attached the extract here. Can anyone please try to make any sense of it, and to try and find a corresponding burial?

I’d appreciate any help!

Adam

I saw that second item, and my ancestor Sarah was born to him in 1804. Thanks for the date anyway, that narrows it down a little! Nothing jumps out from my searches of Ancestry and FindMyPast anyway.

This indicates he died in 1814. But still no sign of a burial! https://books.google.co.uk/books?id=_GL-r3TTiicC&pg=PA489&lpg=PA489&dq=adam+martin+devizes&source=bl&ots=6tEsUEQJ7_&sig=ACfU3U20IvFEwGhws1G7VqzkNvIb317tHw&hl=en&sa=X&ved=2ahUKEwidpNHGqI7pAhWwShUIHTGjAoEQ6AEwBXoECAMQAQ#v=onepage&q=adam%20martin%20devizes&f=false
