Hi - not sure if this feed is still being looked at. I am trying to find out more about my grandmother. Jane Barnard - born Orptington 1897 - 1956. I believe she was of gypsy heritage and wanted to know a bit more about her. Any help appreciated.

Hi - not sure what you mean by feed but have you looked for her on census records?
Was Barnard her maiden name and who did she marry? Is it Orpington Kent.
Any extra info you have will help to trace the correct person :)

There is a Jane with a father Charles mother Louisa and sisters Rose and Betsy who were street hawkers.
Does that sound like it could be the right Jane.

Hi. Sorry all new to this. No not looked at Census as yet. Her maiden name was Barnard and she married Edwin Skillett - they went on to have 8 children (one of them my father).

As Millipede has said we really need more information regarding Jane's surname. Was she Barnard at birth or is this her married name?
Do you know when and where Jane married? Where did she die? Did she have any siblings?

Maiden name was Barnard. As I said in my last post, she married Edwin Skillett. Born in Oprington Kent UK. I do not know where they got married but assume in the East End of London. She died in the East End of London. I don't know if she had siblings......I am trying to find out more about her. Thanks.

The marriage certificate for Jane and Edwin should give the name of her father and his occupation plus witness names can be helpful if they are relations.
There is limited information I can see online but this might help
