Question. What happened to Martha Owen ?. She was not the widow Martha Owen that married Frank Worsfold in 1905.
Does anyone have access to the "London Mid Surrey Times And General Advertiser" 11 March 1882 ?. I would like to see the full article about the charge of manslaughter and death of Francis George Herriott.

Doesn't appear to have been any children born to Richard & Martha. Could she have died before him or did she report his death?
She is also not the 1901 marriage in Fulham

Hi CaroleW,
Her living great niece came to Australia in the 1950's. She recalls her great Aunt Martha being still alive in the 1940's but as just a small child at the time cannot remember her surname.
-
If you have her full birthdate you could check the 1939 register for Martha's with the same birth
-
It looks to me as though she was the Martha OWEN who married Phillip PICOT Sept Qtr 1899 Medway.
She's on the 1901 census(Ancestry) as Matha PICOT age 29-born Brighton.

There is a report of this in Surrey Advertiser 04 March 1882 which you should be able to access on BNA website or FindMyPast newspapers. The BNA gives free access to 3 articles

Well done Maureen ;D
There is a tree on Ancestry confirming what you found - shows her father as Francis Owen but acknowledges that she was the widow Owen when she married Picot
She died March qtr 1944 Bromley aged 70 and is shown as Martha M
You can find her on the 1939 register in Camberwell
