I assume that you are referring to the 29 April 1789 baptism of Thomas, son of Thomas and Eleanor Jones. :-\

Hi
No it is the baptism of Thomas son of Henry and Sarah Jones.

OK - so baptised 1 January 1789
Thomas, son of Henry and Sarah Jones, aged 3 years, 9 months also
John, son of Henry and Sarah Jones, aged 1 year
No indication in the records of where the Jones family lived.

Just double checked and the older of the st martin churches in Worcester was a Catholic church, I am wondering if my Jones family were not catholic so traveled to the church in Birmingham.

Where did Henry and Sarah get married?
-
There is a marriage at St Martin, Birmingham - 2 November 1783 - Henry Jones and Sarah Standish.

One of my x time Grandfathers was Bapt in Essex. The Family were from Norfolk
The Father was working there at the time.

Very often, daughters went back to mother's home to give birth, and the baby was baptised there.

Hi,
Yes, that's one of my stand bys in looking for lost births.
If you had been talking about a marriage then that might be different. I've heard that St. Martins didn't ask too many questions. Like sticking to the time period to become "Of This Parish." Off hand the only urgent reason a Baptism might be the health of mother or baby. Hence Private baptisms.
Shelsey to Birmingham is about 30 miles. That's a good two day walk. So I suspect residence in B'ham is the most likely answer.
