Where would someone obtain their Electrical Engineering education in 1913? Trying to confirm family relationship. Had luck in the past obtaining parent's names by contacting schools/universities.
Believe he was born in Penang, Straits Settlements in 1888, first appears in Bristol in 1914 (possibly 1911).
Douglas Wilson Mc Intyre is listed in Bristol as Graduate in 1913, and Associate Engineer in 1917 in the UK, Electrical Engineer Lists, 1871-1930 (Ancestry).
Listed as Electrical Engineer, Corporate Sub Station, Bristol Corporation in England and Wales 1939 Register (Ancestry).
Found as RAF in UK, Royal Air Force Airmen Records, 1918-1940.

If all else fails his marriage certificate should show the name and occupation of his father.

Believe he was born in Penang, Straits Settlements in 1888, first appears in Bristol in 1914 (possibly 1911).
Suggest you look at the 1911 entry which does not confirm that birthplace
His full birthdate is on the 1939 entry you found and it was not 1888
Married 1918 - no apparent children. He died 25.3.1958 in Bristol aged 73

Thank you, I had some of the information and believe that they are the same person, although a different year is indicated.
His RAF Service Record lists birthdate as 9 Dec 1888, Penang, Straits Settlements. The 1939 Register lists 9 Dec 1884, Calcutta, India. (Not uncommon for records to list India, however, usually Prince of Wales Island, Bengal, India or Bengal, India).
D W Mc Intyre, and my ggm were witnesses at their sister's 1918 marriage, which brought him to my attention. He was previously unidentified. His sister, Winifred Sarah McIntyre's 1914 marriage was in the Bristol, England, Non-Conformist Baptism, Marriage and Burial Registers, 1644-1981 and lists her father's name. Unfortunately, I cannot find an image for Douglas.
I cannot find he or his wife, Ellen/Nellie/Helen (TBC) on any ship's lists which have been a huge help for other family. Douglas and his family were all likely born in Penang but settled in Malaysia, UK, and Australia. There were eight children.
I will order his will which shows his death at Westbury-on-Trym, a suburb of Bristol. I haven't been able to determine when his wife died.
Address listed for Douglas in 1925 may be the same address as my gf's 1924 emigration to Canada:

8, The Pentagon, Seahulls, Bristol (my gf) - is this transcribed incorrectly and should be Sea Mills?

A Douglas W McIntyre married Nellie Milsom Sep q 1918 Bristol. Looks as if it could be yours. No sign of any children.
A Nellie Milsom was born 1893, registered Clutton, Somerset. (10 miles from Bristol)

You are right. I accidentally merged info from the 1911 Census and the 1939 Register.
Thanks everyone, Ancestry is acting up so I can't access my tree at the moment. Will dig deeper when I can get back in.
Back to electrical engineering training in 1913.
Any suggestions re training schools in Bristol at that time? Schools have proved to be valuable resources for family connections, especially since records from Penang are rare. I've also obtained treasured photos from training schools!

He was already working as an electrical engineer prior to that date, he could have had his training anywhere. When did he arrive in the UK

I wish I knew. I can't find him on any ship's lists. The family's early years in UK have been difficult to tie down.
Douglas' older sister, Edith Hamilton, and her children arrived in the UK in 1901. Her husband was a schoolmaster in Penang so he remained there.
As far as I know all of the family were educated in the UK.
