I'm starting off again as I'm really tired so won't feel like it later and will have forgotten half of it by tomorrow. :)
Had been thinking yesterday about whether I'd be feeling brave enough today to go to the local nurseries as I really wanted to buy some plants. The forecast was pretty wet and cold today and it lived up to it, quite a shock after the hot days we've had recently. I was half way to waking up and it was in my mind, didn't know if I was courageous enough. Then the daftest thing gave me a push, the bins were being emptied and I saw the binman put my bin back right outside my house, not just randomly along the street. Aaw, bless him, I thought. I will go!
Got ready with plastic gloves etc, set off bearing in mind that the usual road I would go to it was closed at this end so would have to go round the main road and in the other end. Well when I got there the road seemed to be closed at that end so did a lengthy full circle, it was definitely closed at my normal end so round again I went. Saw a van going between the barriers so I followed and got there.
Very few people there, was looking for bedding plants, there wasn't much choice left but I got several trays of what was there. Trolleys weren't allowed in the building where you pay (this is just a nurseries, not a garden centre where you buy everything else in creation as well so not posh), called over and asked the lady what to do and she said she would come outside to me when she'd finished serving her customer. Got a couple of bags of compost, thought I might have trouble getting it in the limited space in my car but I did, left feeling happy and fifty quid lighter! So now they're all waiting to be planted.
Had lunch, phoned a friend and went for my usual walk. It was very quiet, a few dog walkers but the weather hadn't encouraged people out, it was proper chilly but the rain had stopped. Came home and did a few jobs around the house. Pasta for tea, some TV and Rootschatting.

Roobarb, that is lovely to read about that small act of kindness shown by the bin man bolstering you up for a trip to the nurseries.
You sound like a very keen gardener and all that you have bought is sure to keep you busy when the nicer weather returns. It is really cold, wet miserable weather here too where I am sitting at the bus station now waiting for my next connection to work.
Will you be out clapping tomorrow Roobarb? I think I will. I have been hearing from people I know that they want to continue with the clapping as we are not through the situation completely yet. So I think I might still do it and see how many of my neighbours might turn out too.

I do enjoy gardening RTL, not a very big garden but I like to make it colourful and have even been growing some lettuce in pots. I think we got the chilliest of the weather up here today didn't we?
Not sure about the clapping, I'm happy to continue it but I'll take my cue from my neighbours. Everyone seemed a bit half hearted about it last week, I thought they'd be quite the opposite. Maybe the heat was making everyone lethargic, no chance of that tomorrow!

I’m so pleased you managed to get to a garden centre Roobarb. It was a great idea to venture out on a wet and cold day to ensure fewer people would be out and about. Having some lovely new plants will perk you up no end. ;D

Glad to hear Roobarb that you've not only braved the weather but also your concern about going out after being confined for so long. At least you can look forward to getting your plants in once the rains gone.
RTL - I feel for you having to sit waiting for buses now the weathers turned chilly and wet... hopefully good weather will return soon!
Not sure about clapping in our neck of the woods.... have to see..

Awoke to cloudy chillier day... OH already gone off to golf...
Sat and had breakfast feeling quite deflated after yesterday's euphoria... must ask daughter to send me some pics as I forgot to take any... what a Wally too busy enjoying the day...
Oh well housework won't do itself so got on with it... wasn't really in the mood but once I'd started it was ok....
Had a group message video chat with the other girls who are making q the 'proper scrubs ' for our local hospital.... material been donated and discussed about getting it cut and out to us all....
Lunch... had to get loaf out of the freezer as one OH made yesterday all got eaten and they took the other one home too!
Finished off hoovering ...
OH home had a good game...
Started to rain... much needed but surprising how l so lighthearted you feel when it's wet, chilly, dark and windy.... good job over all this lockdown period the weathers been reasonable... can't imagine if every daybabd been like today!
Fiddled around in my work room with patterns and sorting out lay for garments..
Cuppa and listen to Boris... can't think why as he's so bumbling...
Had lamb chops, mash green vegs and gravy ... bit odd in june
Watched tv... Repair Shop, sone railway programme with Chris Tarrent and one on Brunel....
Off to bed for a read

After the joy of Tuesday you were bound to feel anti-climactic Caroline, but hope your natural buoyancy has caused better equilibrium today.
Well done Roobarb. (I actually sent a message of thanks to the council after our bin men went above and beyond duty on Monday!)

Wednesday, much needed rain down here, grey, but not terribly cold. Walked into town early to get some bread. Conditions meant it wasn't overly busy.
Husband gave 2 on-line tutoring sessions yesterday. Various potterings and spent some time reading Kate Morton's "House at Riverton" which I am enjoying very much.
Evening walk along the front, the beach and park fairly deserted as it was still overcast and damp.
Watched Sewing Bee and Repair Shop; the porcelain repair was a real triumph!

Thank you Roobarb and mowsehouse for your reassuring comments it's so nice to know that other people feel the same sometimes and we all encourage one another .....
The porcelain repair was stunning... they are all such clever people and take such a care and pride in what they do... I thought the camera that took button pictures was wonderful and to think it was over 100 years old that looked a treat to when all cleaned up.
