Title: McEvoy Family
Post by: TerriAnn on Thursday 04 June 20 22:40 BST (UK)
Firstly sorry for such a long post.

I'm trying to find more information on the McEvoy's from Longford.

John Patrick McEvoy (my grandad) was born 4th Nov 1919 in Longford, we knew almost nothing about his family but research has found he had a sister Annie McEvoy born 25th Dec 1916.
Their parents were Patrick McEvoy and Sarah Anne Nairn she was born in Dublin 26th Dec 1893 Patrick is more of a mystery and is the one i need help with.
According to his age on his marriage certificate he would have been born in around 1881 but according to his death records i found he would have been born in about 1876.

If anyone can shed any light on Patrick or Annie for that matter i would appreciate it.

It is probably this man who is with his sister Ellen in 1911.

Thank you all so much for the info, I had thought Bridget Blaney was his mother because it was the right area.
I have a question was it common to lie about age on census and marriage certificates? Patricks age was listed wrongly on the census he would have been 35 in 1911 not 33 and his marriage cert had him around 5 years younger then he was.

Didnt wanna start another new thread so putting it here.
Can anyone find a marriage for Annie McEvoy? i know that by 1959 her name was Annie Johnston and was living in Belfast from her mothers death record. After doing a census search i found a Albert Johnston living at he address she gave, but cant find any marriage for them.
