I am seeking information about Ernest Edward Billinghurst born 14 March 1865 in Lewisham, Kent and died 7 October 1931 in Vancouver British Columbia Canada.
Ernest married Laura Purvis – date not found yet.
There is an obituary in the `Vancouver Sun´ dated 22 October 1931 on the Heritage website which I cannot read.
Any more information about this family in Canada would be welcome.

Ancestry has deaths for EEB and Laura 1961 but I do not have a subscription to the Canada site so only know it was in BC. Also a marriage for Laura ? assume daughter to Reginald F Kaltenbach.

Word has been received here of the death recently at his home in Victoria of Ernest E. Billinghurst, who represented English interests in the Cariboo for many years and was closely associated with early developments there.

A very pretty wedding took place this morning in Christ church. Rev. L. Norman Tucker, M. A., was the officiating minister and the parties between whom the marital knot was tied were Ernest Edward Billinghurst, of Victoria, son of H. F. Billinghurst, of Kent, Eng., and Miss Laura, daughter of the late T.I. Purvis, of Batavia. C.H. Woodward was best man and J. P. Purvis, brother of the bride, gave her away. The couple are very well known in Vancouver and have the best wishes of a very large number of friends. Mr. and Mrs. Billinghurst left by the Seattle express this morning for the Sound cities. They will reside at Victoria.
