I'm looking for family members of Robert Elvin Hopper born 1921 in Ohio and died 1994 in Florida. He married a Mildred Eileen ? but can't find record of a marriage or her surname. He is the son of John Hutchinson Hopper born 1891 in England and died 1956 in Ohio.
-
Hi
He would probably have married in the 1940's so any children could still be alive. Rootschat has a no living persons policy so any details of living family members cannot be given here
There is a tree on Ancestry showing his wife as Mildred Eileen Fay Born 2.2.1924 Canton Ohio - parents Lewis Ellsworth Fay & Audella Isler. Mildred died 20.3.1999 Apopka Florida
-
Thanks for the information about Mildred. I'm also looking for Robert's sister Margaret born 1923 but can't find a marriage for her.

it is a free site, but you need to set up an account.
Someone will be along soon, I am sure, to get the obit for you. It appeared in the Orlando Sentinel, 9 Aug 1994.
-
the marriage record isn't showing up, but there might have been an announcement in the paper, Canton Ohio, maybe.
-
He was single and at home in 1940, in 1942 he named his mother Ethel as next of kin.
-
if you have as much trouble transcribing his employer in 1942, as ancestry did, the name of the company is TImken Roller Bearing, Canton, Ohio. I remember it for some reason, maybe my father sold them shipping boxes, I don't know.

Very possibly the sister is still living..................

Thanks Sandra, I had some of the info on Cordelia, she was named after her mothers sister Cordelia Mahala Maria Hutchinson. Cordelia Lynn's mother Sarah Isabella Hull Hutchinson married 2 brothers and Cordelia and John Hutchinson Hopper were from the second marriage. Sarah Isabella is my gr gr grandmother.
-
Cordelia and John were the younger of the Hopper children, maybe they were close, hence the reason she followed to the USA.
Have heard Cambois and Northumberland area is beautiful. :)
