Hi can anyone help ? Really stuck this time . First line of year 1585 word looks like byes ? Any idea ? Should be attachment I hope . Nick

The word you’re reading as ‘byes’ is uxor (= wife).
Anna [...] uxor Joh(ann)is
= Ann [...] wife of John
It looks like a burial record.
If you need help with the surname, please post another extract, not enlarged quite so much, and showing other lines on the page.
ADDED - found it at Bainton, East Yorkshire. Surname transcribed as Hodye (FindMyPast), but could be Hardye.

Thanks so much . Yes it's the Bainton Hardy's my ancestors .Last did a bit Latin when I was 11 years old many years ago so struggling through the Bainton records . The script used is the most confusing .
