Almost certainly!  His mother's name was actually Amanda, and the birthdate we have is September 20.  Thank you!

I was hoping to find out anything about my great-uncle.  He and my grandfather were separated and never saw each other again.  They were British Home Children, and organizations connected to that group have nothing on him after he arrived in Canada.

I didn't realize that you don't hold records.  Sorry to have bothered you!

An Archibald P Buckingham made an application 23 Dec 1913. Date of Fiat was 29 Dec 1920. 162 acres. Location Section 9 SE, Township 14, Range 3, Meridian 3. District 54, List 327. It doesn't say what town it might be near.

Good heavens - you kind people must think me the most ungrateful person ever!  I haven't been back here since I last posted (June of last year), and coming in today I find all kinds of information!  Yes, the Archibald you found is my great-uncle.  He apparently lied about his age when he went to the U.S., as in fact he was two years older than my grandfather.  It is awfully sad to think that he ended up in Portland, just 312 miles from where Grandpa and most of our family lived.
I wonder if any of his descendants are still in the area.  My two brothers both still live in Vancouver and I’m sure they would love to contact any relatives.
The marriage certificate is my parents, and the obituary for my mother Marie is the one I wrote for her.

So far there has been only one new discovery in the obituaries - the one for Archibald.  The others are my mother, my aunts and my grandfather.  It would be amazing if we could track down any of Archibald's descendants!
